Commenting Isn’t Everything, But It May Have Got You Here.
I am active in Affiliate Marketing blogs and forums. If you have one, chances are I’ve been on it, and if I haven’t, please leave a comment so I can. Saying this, being active makes it a lot easier to promote yourself, and your site.
What are some benefits in doing this?
Well, to start, you are contributing on a site that may help you, or has helped you in the past. Contributing, develops a communication between you and the site owner. The site owner is always checking comments, believe me, and if you say something informative, or useful, he may check out your site, and if he likes it, write a post about it. You are also getting a link on there site. If it is a no follow, who cares, you still have a backlink, and they may have Top Commenter plug-in installed, which leads me to my next one.
Top Commenter can get you hundreds of backlinks fast. If you find a blog that has the top commenter plug-in installed, you can gain a link on everyone of there pages. Just don’t go on and spam there site with your comments. Keep them relevant to the post, and they will reward you with a link, abuse it, and they’ll just remove you from top comments, and also the page itself!
Another way, similar to commenting, is taking part in forums. Placing your link in your signature is a great way to get your site out there. That is another way you may have been brought to this page.

The only trouble is people do abuse it
I was looking through another site I contribute to and noticed my Top Commentator link had someone else’s website on it!!!!
Someone had posted with their site using my name!! Anyway, soon fixed that with another post. Beware of this.

Commenting is a great way to find readers and bloggers with similar interests to you. I also love commenting on posts because it makes the blogging experience much more interactive. I hate when I find an interesting article and can’t leave a comment! Sharing your views with the community is what blogging’s all about!

And I’ll share how I found out my links were missing…. I use this really good tool (not mine I’m afraid!) http://seopro.com.au/free-seo-tools/link-checker/ for checking my backlinks. If you check all the boxes on the page and search, it will show you if text link still exists on the backlink page. I found a few were missing so I checked them out.

Well, Internet Marketing Blogs are easy to find, so I was lucky that my selection was pretty big. I picked ones I actually was interested in, so I was able to leave relevent content. There are forums for almost any niche out there, so that is one start. I would start at google, and do a search for any blogs that you think might be included in the demographics of the site you are trying to leave the comment about. It doesn’t have to be exact, and like I said before, a big hint is the top commentor plug-in.
Have you got any tips on searching for niche specific blogs that have the top commentors plug-in? eg is there anyway to do a Google search for that?
